Narnia: Spine Rigs

I was tasked with creating animated Narnia characters for a mobile game. Seeing the amount of characters that needed animation, I wanted to figure out an easy efficient way to reuse animations across a number of characters. Not only are the animations allowed to be reused, but the setup also allows me to swap in and out a number of items (hair, nose, belt, eyes, etc) in order to create thousands of varieties of characters all on the fly.

I started off with illustrating and rigging a bare model to get the basics ironed out. First I worked on the face mesh and applied bones and constraints to the eyes, head, and rest of the body.

I then created the Susan skin. I developed custom constraints, bones and sprites for this individual skin.

I then added the White Witch assets and applied unique bones for her hair.
